S&SU Course Descriptions

S&S Graphics now offers technical training for customers along three paths:

Periodic Topical Seminars (half days)
Each seminar addresses one issue in print production. Topics range from "Introduction to Color Theory" to "Binding Techniques". Course instructors may be S&S staff or industry experts, but each has at least a relevant Bachelor's degree or ten years' related industry experience. Participants receive three hours of professional instruction and a course syllabus.

Print Technology Overviews (three consecutive full days)
These three-day overviews have been designed for the professional manager whose primary job responsibility is not print production (e.g., Purchasing Managers, Agency Account Executives, etc.). Overviews cover the following topics: Introduction to Print Technologies; Color Theory in Lithography; Prepress Technology; Offset Presses and Processes; and Bindery Options.

Certificate in Offset Reproduction (fifteen half-days of intensive training)
This comprehensive, university-styled, three-week curriculum offers participants hands-on exposure to many aspects of print production. Designed for the professional print manager (Art Director, Agency Production Coordinator, Corporate Print Buyer, etc.), the Certificate program will teach you to communicate more effectively with any print vendor. Participants receive instruction in theory as well as hands-on exposure to the materials and technologies that drive the printing process. Certificates are granted only to participants who complete the entire program and pass all relevant tests with a minimum score of 80%. NOT ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL PASS this program.

Fees
Half-Day Topical Seminars are free to S&S customers and employees of Consolidated Graphics.

Three-Day Technology Overviews are offered to customers and friends of S&S Graphics at $900 per participant. Fees include all materials and syllabus and a boxed lunch.

Certificate Programs are offered on an individual or group basis, starting at $3,600 per participant. Because of the intensive time commitments required by the staff and management of S&S, discounts are not available for individual participants. Groups of three or more pay $1,500 per participant. All fees are payable in advance. Because some participants will not pass this course, refunds are not available. Fees include all materials, instructional syllabi and a daily lunch. Discounted hotel accommodations are available, if arranged in advance.
